My Top Priorities
-
Tahoe Forest Health System exists to serve the people of the Truckee-Tahoe region. I believe every significant decision should begin with one question: What is in the long-term best interest of our community? Whether the issue is access to care, affordability, capital investments, partnerships, or future growth, I will work to ensure decisions are thoughtful, transparent, fiscally responsible, and guided by the needs and values of the people we serve.
-
Trust is built through openness, accountability, and honest communication. I believe the community deserves clear information about the Board's priorities, the reasoning behind major decisions, and the progress being made to address our region's healthcare challenges. Just as importantly, residents should have meaningful opportunities to ask questions, share concerns, and know their perspectives are being heard and considered.
-
Exceptional healthcare begins with exceptional people. Every employee at Tahoe Forest plays a vital role in serving our community. I believe listening to employees, valuing their expertise, and fostering a culture where they can thrive ultimately benefits every patient and our entire community.
-
Tahoe Forest Health System is one of our community's most valuable assets, and protecting its long-term strength requires careful stewardship. I will approach every decision with fiscal responsibility, thoughtful analysis, and a long-term perspective—balancing today's needs with tomorrow's opportunities to ensure our health system remains strong, sustainable, and responsive to our community for generations to come.
-
Good governance begins with listening. I believe the best decisions are made by asking thoughtful questions, considering diverse perspectives, and working collaboratively to solve complex challenges. My commitment is to approach every issue with curiosity, respect, and an open mind—always focused on achieving the best possible outcome for the community we serve.
Why I’m Running
Tahoe Forest Health System is one of the Truckee-North Tahoe community's greatest assets. But it faces the complex challenge of improving access to care while maintaining affordability in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
Decisions made today will shape our community for decades to come.
I’m asking for the opportunity to help ensure every decision is made with one question in mind: What’s best for OUR community?
Hi, I’m Meg
I’m a Truckee native with a deep love for this beautiful place we call home and the people who make it so special. I am passionate about giving back to the community which has given me so much.
After graduating from Stanford University, I returned to the mountains and started one of the region’s most respected marketing and design firms. While my clients ranged from small businesses and nonprofits to large public agencies and Fortune 500 companies, it was the daily interaction with our local business community that I enjoyed most.
An active volunteer, I currently serve as Vice Chair of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe and have previously served as President of Truckee Rotary and as a board member of the Truckee River Watershed Council.
Since 2008, I have worked with Tahoe Forest Health System, first as an independent marketing consultant and most recently as the Director of Marketing and Communications. This experience gave me a broad understanding of the health system, its mission, and the evolving healthcare needs of our region.
Tahoe Forest has been part of my life from the very beginning. I was born there, my son was born there, and I've had the privilege of working alongside the incredible people who make our health system exceptional. Tahoe Forest Health System has given so much to my family and to our community. It would be an honor to give back by serving on the Hospital District Board.
Yes, add my name to the list!
I ENDORSE Meg for Tahoe Forest Hospital District Board
